Whoa-oa-oa! Look out, brother! Looks like me and my two-bit publishers are gonna be sitting at the cool table at this year’s Toronto Comics Arts Festival! To psyche myself out about the BIG WEEKEND I decided to check out their WEBSITE again and they’ve got the FLOOR MAP all ready to go! 2D Cloud is at number 147 surrounded by all the publishers you might actually want to check out. Click the bear picture to see for yourself!
Don’t normally post stuff I didn’t make, but shit: this is intense, especially the second reading: and semi-apt considering that my new book is about a comedian and has some “poetic imagery”, etc. Enjoy!
test for SEC (available HERE or in less than two weeks at the Toronto Comics Arts Festival) from 2011
THE NEW PHONE BOOKS ARE HERE!
Looks like my new book just got printed and is ready for pre-view and pre-order! These are in Minnesota so I haven’t seen them but they look OK in the pictures! If you order now you get it in July or you can track it down at a comics or art fair or festival between now and then! They also peer-pressured me into doing a brief interview to spoonfeed the book to busy people which is printed in a pamphlet that you get if you order direct! You might also get a free copy of my previous book! Help these nice folks clear out those unsightly boxes! CLICK ON THE PICTURE FOR DETAILS!
After some dull teases here’s exactly one half of that two page comic I made for an exhibition about Baltimore which is now in its physical stage at the Maryland Institute College of Art’s Studio Center on North Avenue. It’s been up for maybe two weeks but I finally got to see it and it looks good. A MICA graduate student named Sara Barnes put it together. Google any pertinent information for details. I don’t know how long the show is up. See it now!
Putting a little extra flour in the gravy that is the ramped-up lead-up to the release of Strong Eye Contact: again on the early side of ramped-up lead-up but this flour expires soon: made this for Noel Freibert’s Tortured Page exhibition at Current Gallery in Baltimore, MD. Avoided prior online exposure but figured it could encourage folks to check out all the other razor-sharp sheets up on display between now and Easter when the doors close. Cool cool stuff by cool cool tots. Familiarity with Mr. Freibert’s work will explain a lot about my picture. Also he may or may not have shared womb-space with a guy named Finley. Enjoy life!
Pee-pull, pee-pull (cf. Mick Jagger at Altamont): worked up the courage to get to panel number two of page two of slow slow work-in-progress Yule Log. Other “big news” is finally finished book cover, etc. for Strong Eye Contact, the contents of which this site was created to display temporarily before proper physical manifestation. The “official announcement” of debut is up HERE with image of that cover. See early posts on this site for some core samples. Also if I’m gonna personally fondle copies in Toronto I’ll need to lighten my load and beef up my wallet: you can do the opposite HERE. All purchases come with free copy of my lifestyle brochure Period. Happy Monday!
Experiment Page from another sidelined work-in-progress: gotta let stuff marinade. In the meantime I’m gonna link up to some ART ORIGINALS ownership opportunities for the benefit of folks who might have missed the last spate of postings. What does it all mean…?
I’ve got drawings and paintings for sale HERE and some art exhibition prints/originals for sale HERE. Also if there’s something on this main site you fancy - that doesn’t happen to be on either other page - let me know and I can let you know if it’s available and what it might go for. For purchase details and comics-give-away-incentives please see that first link. Who wouldn’t want a new touchable artwork for springtime?
